What is included in the retreat price? 

 

  • Accommodation for a 3-night stay

  • Transport to and from the location 

  • Meals, refreshments, snacks and drinks (a variety of wines will be available )

  • Welcome pack and Goodie bag

  • Light activities and/or a workshop (this depends on the location)

  • Guest Author meet and greet (time limitations may apply)

 

I am coming from overseas, Is my flight included? 

Unfortunately no. Everything included in the prices on the website is listed above.  

 

When and how can I book?

You're in the right place, Just click on pricing plans for our shared room plans or jump to the home page for our full-priced package options.

Does it matter what I read? 

Alexa play, we do not care lol.  Not at all. We welcome all types of readers. 

What do you mean by ‘gentle’ activities? 

  • Reading of course! 

  • For each event, we will endeavour to have a GUEST author attend, however, the setup of that session is dependent on the author's schedule

  • Group sessions where we can discuss our Amazon wishlists or TBR

  • Chill-out sessions where you can talk with others who are reading as much as you. 

 

Will I have to share a room with a stranger?

The answer is that it's totally up to you. 

We have some rooms that will have shared occupancy for those who are happy to share.  We also have some twin rooms that are fully bookable and you can keep them to yourself or share them with a friend.

Can I bring my husband/wife/partner or a friend with me? 

Yes, we welcome all kinds of readers. 

 

Can I bring a pet with me?

No - it is a health and safety concern and most venues do not allow pets. If you require an animal with you please email us bookishhavenevents@gmail.com to discuss the circumstances. 

What sort of food do you serve?

Different meals will be prepared throughout the event days and depending on your dietary requirements, alternatives will be offered.

Please send us an email or use your notes option while making your booking should you have specific allergies or dietary requirements.

 

Will alcohol be served? 

 

This is dependent on the venue but a glass of wine may be made available for those that would like one. 

 

Are your venues accessible for wheelchair users? 

 

Some of our venues are, however, due to location we as a team may deem this too high risk to offer this service. Please contact us to discuss your specific needs so that we can assess whether we deem a specific safety risk to you.

 

Can you accommodate Gluten Free/Vegetarian/Diabetic guests?

Yes. You will be asked for your dietary requirements via the booking form once we receive your initial or full payment. 

 

What do I need to bring? 

Comfortable clothing, books, slippers and PJ’S as you may decide to remain in them all day. Proper footwear if you would like to take part in outside activities. A blanket if you plan to sit outside reading or discussing with your fellow bibliophiles. 

 

Can I wear my PJ’s all day? 

Of course, we want you to be comfortable. 

 

What type of author will be coming? 

It will be a range as it depends on availability. 

 

What is your cancellation policy?

All deposit amounts will be non-refundable.

 

Partial refunds may be considered if a full notice of 12 weeks before the event is to take place is given in writing and sent to bookishhavenevents@gmail.com

 

If you wish to cancel 10 weeks before the booked event is to take place we are unable to offer a refund.

 

Where possible and you would wish to move your booking to a future event, discussions can take place in order to help this new change take effect.
